1. 100% Local Offline Processing (Zero Cloud Uploads)

TaxClean ZA is architected specifically to help South African accounting practices, tax practitioners, and bookkeepers comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA, Act 4 of 2013). Unlike cloud-based OCR platforms, TaxClean ZA executes all PDF parsing, ledger classification, and CSV/Excel generation strictly inside your local Windows PC memory.

• No Bank Statement Transmission: Your clients' PDF bank statements, account numbers, transaction descriptions, and balances are never uploaded, transmitted, or synced to any external server.
• No Third-Party AI Training: Client financial records are never exposed to external cloud LLMs or third-party data processors.
• Local Storage Control: All SQLite rule databases, exported CSV/XLSX files, and audit logs reside exclusively on your local hard drive under your Windows user profile.

2. Information Collected During Licensing & Support

When you request a trial or purchase an annual license key on taxcleanza.com, we collect only the business information necessary to issue your tax invoice and cryptographic license key:

• Practice or Company Name, Contact Name, and Business Email Address.
• A non-reversible local Machine ID hash (provided by you during activation or multi-seat license generation) used solely to sign your offline cryptographic activation key.

We do not collect, store, or process credit card numbers on our servers. All B2B invoicing is settled via standard South African EFT or authorized payment links.

3. Telemetry & Network Behaviour

The TaxClean ZA Windows application contains no background telemetry trackers, advertising SDKs, or hidden analytics scripts. Core PDF bank statement extraction, rule classification, and ERP export operate 100% offline. Optional AI merchant lookup features only execute if a user explicitly configures their own API key in settings.
